Short answer: The EasyReadAI reading highlights widget shows sentences and book titles you already saved, not a quote pulled from the web each day. Open the iPhone or iPad Home Screen to see a passage again, then tap it to open the note.
Version 2.2.0 is adapted for iOS 27 and adds a wider skin set. Start with Windows 98, Iridescent Dream, or Silver Minimal when you want the widget to have a clear personality; Transparent PDA, Clear LCD, Digital Terminal, Candy Transparent, Chunky Device, and TTPlayer are also available. A skin changes presentation, not your saved text.

Where highlights come from
You need a note with excerpt text. A thought with an empty quotation is not a candidate:
- Capture a passage while reading an ebook
- Type or paste it
- Save checked text from a paper-book photo
Add the 2.2.0 widget
- Save at least one note that contains excerpt text.
- Open Settings → Widget settings. Use all excerpts to rotate the library or a manual shortlist for a smaller set.
- Choose Windows 98, Iridescent Dream, Silver Minimal, Transparent PDA, Clear LCD, Digital Terminal, Candy Transparent, Chunky Device, or TTPlayer.
- Add EasyReadAI from the iPhone or iPad widget gallery. Use the sizes your installed build lists.
- Tap the excerpt to open its note. Returning to an ebook location requires a source saved with that note; photo and pasted notes do not gain one automatically.

Does it change at midnight?
The widget prepares a daily rotation from the device calendar. iOS decides when it actually refreshes, so a new quote is not guaranteed at a fixed hour. It is not spaced repetition: there is no “too easy / too hard” schedule. It only puts existing text back in view and does not ask an AI model to invent a quotation.
If it is blank or unchanged
Open the app and check that a note contains excerpt text, not only a comment. Review a manual shortlist that may point at deleted notes. After changing settings, let the app finish updating and give iOS time to refresh. A short list can repeat.
A small review habit
When a quote reappears, try saying why you saved it before opening the note. Search and filter in the app, then export CSV or a PNG card if you need a copy. Notes stay on each device; the widget is not cross-device sync. Text on the Home Screen is visible to anyone looking at that screen.
