Quick start
- Import EPUB or TXT, or use Split View with another reader on iPad.
- Select text while reading and tap Ask AI for explanation or translation.
- Capture insights in the stream; tap a card to jump back to the source.
- Configure AI providers in Settings, or use platform credits (sign-in required).

FAQ
Are my books and notes uploaded to the cloud?
No. Imported books, captured passages, notes, and reading progress stay on your device by default. EasyReadAI does not upload them to developer servers for storage.
What data is sent when I use AI?
The platform AI gateway handles authentication, forwarding and credit usage. Text questions send the text needed for that request. Optional AI image proofreading also sends compressed page images; this does not upload your whole book library. Image-to-text and excerpt widgets
Do I need an account?
Core reading, passage capture, and local notes work without sign-in. EasyReadAI does not provide persistent page highlighting. An account is only needed for platform AI credits or purchases.
Which file formats are supported?
In-app reading supports EPUB, TXT, RTF, and more. PDF support varies by platform — check your current app version.
Can I use it alongside Apple Books or other readers?
Yes. On iPad, use Split View to read in another app while capturing notes and asking AI in EasyReadAI.
How is EasyReadAI different from other AI readers?
We don’t read the book for you — we assist when you get stuck, preserving deep reading while adding AI explanation.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Local books and notes are removed with the app. Export notes (CSV, PNG, etc.) before uninstalling if you need to keep them.

Does image-to-text require an internet connection?
Basic OCR runs on device and you can review and save the text manually. Optional AI image proofreading sends compressed images and text online and requires sign-in and available AI credits. Read the guide →
Why has my excerpt widget not updated yet?
Check that your notes contain excerpt text and are included in the widget selection. iOS can delay refreshes; a daily rotation does not guarantee an exact update time. Tap an excerpt to open its note. Read the guide →
